Chorley Empire Cinema
Founded in 1986 and now based in the 1910-built Chorley Little Theatre, we show films and screen events throughout the year (mainly on Sundays) with HD projection and surround sound. Our screen is installed above the stage and the venue seats 230. We aim to show the latest films in a friendly atmosphere, where a warm welcome (and a bar) awaits. We're all volunteers and we keep prices low so as many people as possible can enjoy films.

Synopsis
Chorley Empire Community Cinema present a charming documentary celebrating the British countryside.
Wilding tells the story of a young couple that bets on nature for the future of their failing, four-hundred-year-old estate. The young couple battles entrenched tradition, and dares to place the fate of their farm in the hands of nature. Ripping down the fences, they set the land back to the wild and entrust its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild. It is the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe.
Based on the best-selling book by Isabella Tree, this is a hopeful and necessary story of ecological regeneration that reveals nature in all it’s glory.

Synopsis
Directed by Mike Cheslik
Starring Ryland Brickson Cole, Olivia Graves
Chorley Empire Community Cinema present a surreal slapstick comedy film inspired by the silent movies of the 1920s and 30s.
When it all goes wrong for a drunk cider-maker, his battle for survival in the harsh winter sees him hatch plans to take on rabbits, raccoons and hundreds of beavers in order to become North America’s greatest fur trapper.
Jean Kayak finds himself stranded in a surreal winter landscape with nothing but his dim wits to guide him. Against a backdrop of ruthless elements and sinister creatures - all played by actors in full-sized mascot costumes – Kayak develops increasingly complex traps in order to win the hand of a mischievous lover.
Inventive low-budget black-and-white comedy that channels the classic slapstick of Chaplin, Keaton and The Goodies.
